“Where do we go from here: Continued Chaos or Community?”
Martin Luther King’s book title above seems an appropriate question to ask as the world watched, in utter dismay and disbelief, the incredible attacks on Congress yesterday.
Insurrection?! Insurrection?!! Insurrection?!!! 🤦🏾♀️
Power and/or Abuse of Power? Machiavellian? Continued Resistance or Democracy? Continued Alter Ego (or is’t Egotistical) Police Actions against Blacks and Whites? The list of questions continue. Answers not yet found.
“Where do we go from here: Chaos or Community?” is, I believe, one of the last books that MLK wrote. The title is so apropos today.
Impeach or Not?
The greater the power, the more dangerous the abuse.
Edmund Burke
With two weeks left, is’t worth impeaching the President? But, by the same token, is’t right to allow the President to continue to instigate unrest and division? This is one act too many and gone too far such that some of the President’s supporters have condemned the act and distanced themselves from continued support.
National Security?
The White House and Congress are not only representative of USA’s seats of power, but also the edifices that (and people who) the world looks up to as leading power. To have had Congress unabashedly broken into, without resistance, is a slap on security and intelligence of our nation. In essence might just mean that none is secure anywhere.
Where do we go from here?!
Forward! Despite yesterday’s confusion, Congress resumed and have now confirmed and certified Joe Biden and Kamala Harris as the 46th President and Vice President respectively of the USA 🇺🇸. They will be sworn in on January 20th, 2021. Wishing both a peaceful and fruitful tenure and hoping that there will not be any planned disruption to the Swearing in Ceremony.
